Abstract

Crystals and their Skeletons. Crystals are everywhere in our lives, being used in fields as different as electronics, food, and drug production. The preparation of these materials is normally made by recrystallization from solution, a process that is extremely sensitive to the experimental conditions, and, as a result, may be difficult to control. This work gives an overview of the production of crystals by recrystallization, the impact of the experimental conditions on the prepared crystal structure, and how this influences the properties of a material.
