The MInS project will address these specific issues using melt inclusions to determine geochemical trends in volcanic rocks collected under the Azores influence at Terceira Rift, Mid-Atlantic ridge (37ºN - 40º'N) and neighboring seamounts. This study will be the first comprehensive melt inclusion study in the area and, when integrated with current knowledge, it will provide new insights into the interpretation of mantle dynamics, plume-ridge interaction and related hydrothermal and magmatic processes. State-of-the-art equipment will be used in well-reputed laboratories following ongoing research collaboration between the team of researchers and renowned scientists.
