Carlos E. S. Bernardes (Lab's Head)Carlos Bernardes obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon (FCUL), for the development and use of calorimetric methods for the study of polymorphism in organic compounds. As a postdoctoral researcher at CQE@IST, he began using Molecular Dynamics Simulations (MD) to study ionic liquids and solid materials. Currently, he is an assistant professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, FCUL, studying crystal nucleation processes using theoretical and experimental methods.
