For the record...

I feel no sexual attraction toward people of my sex. So, why did i go to the gay and lesbian parade? Three reasons, in no particular order:

I like photography very much. I saw the parade as a great photo opportunity. (That in the end I was not up to the task saddens me, but is besides the point.)

I was moved by curiosity: I wanted to see how these people would behave. "These people" included both the paraders and the spectators. I was very positively impressed.

I feel very strongly that adults have the right to choose (or follow) their sexual inclinations (I feel equally strongly that they must leave children alone). Showing up at the parade, and documenting it, was a small way of expressing that.
