Local Adaptation in Drosophila

Our main research interests are Evolutionary Biology; Experimental Evolution; Local adaptation; Evolutionary dynamics of fitness traits, molecular markers and genome wide studies in real time evolution. The goals of our research are to understand the genetic basis of local adaptation, the relative role of History, Chance and Selection during Adaptive Evolution and the  evolution of latitudinal clines. In addition we are implementing an Evolutionary Studies Program at the University of Lisbon.

Our main research interests are Evolutionary Biology; Experimental Evolution; Local adaptation; Evolutionary dynamics of fitness traits, molecular markers and genome wide studies in real time evolution. The focus of our research is the study of the genetic basis of local adaptation, as well as the interactions between genetic drift and natural selection. In addition we are implementing an Evolutionary Studies Program at the University of Lisbon.
